    Cedar (scientific name: Cedars Deodara, English: Deodar, Urdu: ديودار Deodar; Sanskrit: Cedaru) is a straight-stemmed conical tree with long and somewhat rounded leaves and strong wood but light and fragrant. Their cone shape is very similar to pine (fur). Their origin is in the mountains of the Western Himalayas and the Mediterranean, (in the Himalayas up to 1500–3200 meters, and in the Mediterranean Sea from 1000–2000 meters). [2] It is found in Afghanistan, northern Pakistan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir of north-central India and in south-western Tibet and western Nepal at an altitude of 1500 to 3200 meters. Its flowers are generally unisexual, at the end of the blades, the male catechins are single, cylindrical, 4.3 cm long, conical-rounded or elliptical at the end of the blades. Its fruit cone is straight 10-12.5 cm long and 7.5-10 cm wide. Seeds 6–15 mm long, brown in color. Its floral period is from April to January.

    The bark of cedar tree is very useful from the point of view of medicine. Cedar is astringent, hard, bitter, hot, short, balsamic, brings out Kapha Vata, ulcer wounds healer, curvilinear, masculine and lactose.
